Impact of Operating System and Kernel Upgrades on D7 Packages

The impact on D7 packages when doing an Operating System (OS) upgrade differs from that of just a kernel upgrade. 

Things to note when performing upgrades:

• If it is just a kernel upgrade, then you will have to upgrade only the LFS package.
• If it is an OS upgrade, then you will have to upgrade the D7, LFS, and SG packages.
